No.10 0-6-0 tank plus tender “Naklo”.
Built at the Chrzanow workshops, Poland in 1957, works no. 3459. Tractive effort 70 h.p.
Formerly worked for Naklo Sugar Factory, near Bydgoszcz, Poland. Originally fitted with both side and well tanks, the locomotive was completely rebuilt at Alston in 2001 without side tanks and with an improved tender.
Maroon body lined in yellow with black frames and red wheels and buffer beams. Owned by the South Tynedale Railway.
No.6 0-4-0 side and well tank “Thomas Edmondson”.
Built by Henschel of Kassel, Germany in 1918, works no. 16047. Tractive effort 90 h.p.
Formerly worked for Minas y Ferrocarril de Utrillas, Teruel, Spain. Returned to service in 2006 after a complete overhaul, aided by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.
Dark olive green body, black frames, red valve gear, wheels and buffer beams. Owned by the South Tynedale Railway.
No.16 0-4-2 tank “Carlisle”.
Built by Hunslet Engine Company of Leeds in 1937, works no. 1859. Tractive effort 90 h.p.
Formerly worked for Umtwalumi Valley Estate sugar plantation, Natal, South Africa. Arrived at Alston in January 1998.
Current dismantled and requires a complete major overhaul.

No.14 0-4-0 tank “Helen Kathryn”.
Built by Henschel of Kassel, Germany in 1948, works no. 28035. Tractive effort 70 h.p.
Formerly worked clearing bomb damage in various Eastern Germany cities and later used on a forestry railway there. Imported to U.K. during 1970 and used on Bala Lake Railway and Llanberis Lake Railway in North Wales. Locomotive now privately owned and on long term loan to South Tynedale Railway.
Blue body with black frames, polished wheels and valve gear and red buffer beams.

0-6-2 saddle tank “Barber”.
Built by Thomas Green and Company Limited of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England in 1908, works No. 441. Tractive effort of 6,000 lbs at 75% boiler pressure.
Formerly worked at Harrogate Gas Works, Harrogate, North Yorkshire and preserved by the Narrow Gauge Railway Society, on loan from Leeds Industrial Museum, Armley Mills, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
