The South Tynedale Railway operates steam and diesel hauled passenger trains along a two foot narrow gauge line which travels through the scenic South Tyne Valley between Alston in Cumbria and Kirkhaugh in Northumberland, a journey of 2¼ miles in length.

 

We pride ourselves on being a friendly line that offers great value for money, and while we are sure that the highlight of your day will be a ride on one of our trains, there are many other things to see and do when you come to the South Tynedale Railway.
