Details:-
Originally a standard gauge, petrol-engined trolley, supplied new to British Railways who rebuilt it in 1957 with a diesel engine. It was purchased by the Durham Narrow Gauge Group in 1987, converted and regauged to 2 ft narrow gauge for use on the South Tynedale Railway in 1987-88.

DB965082 was despatched by Wickham to British Rail at Queen St, York, along with six others, on 21st January 1957. It was a Type 17A with JAP 1323cc engine number DTZ/F 4354/4. It also bore the BR (ER) CCE departmental number DE320500. It was allocated to Glaisdale in 1965; Grosmont by November 1967, and where it was in need of urgent attention in March 1973. It was at Castleton on 18th April 1976; allocated to Battersby by October 1984.
I understood it to be sold from Darlington ODM depot to the South Tynedale Railway in December 1986. It was on display at the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chapel and Wakes Colne for a few days, where it appeared in their trolley exhibition on 14th and 15th August 1999.
