The Continental Railway Circle

This organisation caters for people who are interested in railways worldwide, but excluding those in the United Kingdom - these can be either - privately owned, industrial, state owned or preserved railways.

The Continental Railway Circle produces a quarterly journal entitled Continental Railway Journal, which contains photographs, articles, reports and details of letters received from its subscribers about railways around the world, but excluding those of the United Kingdom. Copies of the journal are available at 3.50 each or 4.00 by United Kingdom post or 4.50 by overseas mail.

Annual subscriptions are also available and run from Autumn to Summer each year, and the prices are as follows - United Kingdom 14; overseas surface mail 17. Overseas air mail subscriptions rates can be supplied on request. Further details are available from the subcriptions officer, Bryan Benn by email at [email protected]

The journal also contains railway book, video and DVD reviews and offers new books about overseas railways to its subscribers at very reasonable prices. It also carries details of area meetings of the Continental Railway Circle which are held at two venues in England - either in Stafford or in London. Binders to hold copies of the Continental Railway Journal are often made available to subscribers and these are publicised in the journal.

Please note that the Continental Railway Circle does not have its own internet site, and therefore all enquiries should be directed to Bryan Benn at the above e-mail address in the first instance.

Please also note that the above information is provided to publicise the existence of the Continental Railway Circle and its journal, to other readers of this internet site. The Continental Railway Circle has no involvement or connection with the South Tynedale Railway Preservation Society.
