Situated in the original Alston Station building dating from the opening of the branch in 1852 the shop also acts as the ticket office for the railway.
Products include a range of souvenirs, general gifts, ice creams and confectionary, local guides and a selection of transport related books.

- The second edition of “The Alston Branch” book, written by Stanley C. Jenkins, published by The Oakwood Press is still available, covering the history of the Haltwhistle to Alston branch line. Copies can be obtained from Alston Station shop, the cover price is £8.95.

Also available is the DVD “A Year in the Life of the South Tynedale Railway” which provides a short history of the line, shows images of the beautiful scenery through which the line passes, and gives a insight into the work required to give you, the visitor a safe and enjoyable visit, while introducing you to some of the people who make it all possible.
